In Westerville, OH, I conducted a thorough furnace safety inspection on a Trane S9X1 gas furnace. I inspected the heat exchanger for cracks, tested the flame sensor and ignition system, and cleaned the burners. I also checked the safety controls, including the pressure switch and limit switches, to ensure proper operation. The furnace was confirmed to be running safely and efficiently.
In Columbus, OH, I tested a gas line for leaks using a bubble solution, focusing on the shut-off valve area. No leaks were found in the system. After speaking with two tenants, they reported the gas smell was localized around the ovens in both units, with no odors detected in the basement. As a precaution, I shut off the gas supply to the furnace, allowing the homeowner to inspect other appliances for potential issues.
I provided a detailed quote for installing a new furnace, including a return air system and a whole-home air cleaner. The estimate covered equipment costs, labor, and necessary duct modifications. This project was planned for a homeowner in Columbus, OH, ensuring a complete and efficient heating solution tailored to their needs.
Working for our client in Reynoldsburg, OH, I performed yearly maintenance and safety checks on a 14-year-old Bryant furnace. I cycled the heat and recorded 6.9% O₂, 47 ppm CO in the flue, and 0 ppm CO in the supply, with a 47-degree Delta T. I replaced the 16x25x1 air filter, measured the ignition at 47 ohms, and cleaned the flame sensor and flue trap. No issues were identified during this inspection.

Hi Frank-I'm sorry you feel this way. The price you paid is the cost for us to send a fully licensed and trained tech in a fully stocked truck (on a weekend no less) to your home to fix your furnace. You could have declined the price if you did not agree with it. If we only charged $25 for a repair, we would not be able to pay employees let alone offer them healthcare for them and their families. I would encourage you to call around to other local HVAC companies and compare pricing as I assure you that we are competitive, otherwise we would not still be in business after 72 years. The cost you paid covers the parts, labor, company overhead and a 10% profit. I think 10% profit is fair for the service we provide. Thanks for your comments and we wish you the best in finding another HVAC company that suits your needs.
